Computerworld magazine has ranked Monsanto Company No. 40 on its 2017 list of 100 Best Places to Work in Information Technology (IT).  The recognition is given to organizations that challenge their IT staffs while providing great benefits and compensation.

Specifically, Computerworld says Monsanto’s placement on the list is a result of the company’s consistent engagement with employees through its use of quarterly surveys to gain insights “into the health of the organization and to stay connected to what employees think.”  The company was also recognized for its commitment to inclusion and diversity as well as providing ongoing professional development opportunities such as its Women in IT program.

“I’m excited for Monsanto to be recognized as a great place to work in IT,” said Jim Swanson, Monsanto’s chief information officer. “Driven by our employees, we’ve built a culture of innovation and value as we work together to provide high-impact, disruptive capabilities for our customers. I’m so proud of the talent and passion of our employees around the world.”

Computerworld’s annual Best Places to Work in IT list is compiled by the magazine’s editors and is based on extensive survey results from 24,000 IT professionals who work at 100 companies. The final rankings are based on answers provided by the respondents in various categories such as benefits, career development, training and retention and work-life balance.

"The organizations on this year’s Best Places to Work in IT list excel at creating a dynamic and satisfying IT work environment,” said Ken Mingis, executive editor of Computerworld.  “In a competitive market for tech talent, these outstanding employers are able to attract highly skilled IT pros by offering great benefits, new learning opportunities, access to cutting-edge technologies and challenging, business-critical projects.”
