Every farm is different; no single solution can work for every crop, soil type, or ecosystem. That’s why our scientists are developing more targeted and adaptable solutions. For example, we’re exploring how naturally occurring enzymes can protect crops from weeds, and how data and analytics can enable farmers to make more precise, informed decisions—all with the goal of supporting a balance between humanity and nature.

BioDirect Technology Glyphosate-Resistant Weed Control* 

Herbicide-resistant weeds limit farmers’ options for weed control and increase costs. This project aims to use a new technology based on molecules found in nature to target glyphosate-resistant weeds and provide a more effective spectrum of control.

Next-Generation Acetochlor Premix*

This product is developed to combine two trusted herbicides to deliver an additional option for weed management in corn and sorghum. Multiple residual modes of action have the potential to offer excellent control of glyphosate-resistant palmer amaranth.

Improved Roundup® Formulation II*

This next-generation herbicide is being developed to deliver effective and efficient weed control with glyphosate, while improving handling for growers. The high-loading product line could help to reduce transportation footprint and limit packaging waste.

Dicamba-Tolerant Canola*

Multiple modes of action for weed control help enhance the long-term sustainability of an herbicide. This product is being developed to provide canola growers the ability to use dicamba for a second mode of action for pre-emergence and in-crop weed control.

Third-Generation Herbicide-Tolerant Corn*

The use of herbicide-tolerant crops has enabled growers to reduce or eliminate tillage (no-till), which helps conserve soil and water. Third-generation herbicide-tolerant corn technology is being developed to build on the proven foundation of Roundup Ready® Corn 2 by adding herbicide tolerance of both dicamba and glufosinate to provide growers with additional solutions to control weeds

Third-Generation Herbicide-Tolerant Soybeans

Designed to offer multiple modes of action to enhance weed control, this product has the potential to enable farmers to employ more sustainable on-farm practices. The product is being developed to build on the benefits of Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans, including high-yield opportunity and tolerance to glyphosate and dicamba, with added tolerance to glufosinate.

Fourth-Generation Herbicide-Tolerant Corn*

The use of multiple chemistries can help farmers with weed management and supports sustainable tillage practices. The fourth-generation herbicide-tolerant corn is being developed to include tolerance to dicamba, glufosinate, glyphosate and additional modes of action to give farmers another option to manage current hard-to-control weeds, and minimize weed resistance issues for the future.

This project has the potential to provide improved weed control and yields to help farmers sustainably meet growing demand for food and feed. The product is being develop to enable improved control of dandelion, foxtail barley, wild buckwheat, and cleavers, and to allow for increased flexibility through a wider application window.

TruFlex Roundup Ready® Canola with LibertyLink®

TruFlex Roundup Ready® Canola with LibertyLink® has the potential to offer farmers even more flexibility with two in-crop herbicide tolerance modes of action to maximize weed control and manage glyphosate-resistant weeds that rob canola plants of vital nutrients. Canola growers will have the option to use two herbicide-tolerant systems with their proven performing DEKALB brand canola seed.
